David B. Barinholtz, M.D., President & CEO
David Barinholtz, M.D. is President and CEO of Mobile Anesthesiologists, LLC, an office-based anesthesia practice located in Chicago, IL. A pioneer in the field of office-based anesthesiology, Dr. Barinholtz founded Mobile Anesthesiologists in 1996. In his role as President and CEO, Dr. Barinholtz is responsible for overseeing the medical and administrative operations of the company.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Barinholtz served as Co-Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia Grant Hospital. In 1994, Dr. Barinholtz assumed the role of Associate Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Barinholtz also served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and Medical Center from 1992 to 1998.

Dr. Barinholtz received his board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiologists in October 1993, and he is licensed to practice medicine in Illinois. He has been a surveyor for AAAHC since November 1998 and is recognized as an expert on the topic of office-based anesthesia. Dr. Barinholtz has been published in Outpatient Surgery Magazine, Anesthesiology Clinics of North America, Aesthetic Trends & Technology, Cosmetic Surgery Times, and Group Practice Journal. He also lectures nationally and has presented at the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Midwest Anesthesia Conference, Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Ambulatory Anesthesia, and the Iowa Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Barinholtz received his M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He fulfilled his anesthesiology residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and Medical Center. In 1991, Dr. Barinholtz completed an Advanced Clinical Track with an emphasis on ambulatory anesthesia.

Dr. Barinholtz received a B.S. from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

Cathy Mayer, RN, Director of Clinical Affairs
Cathy Mayer is Director of Clinical Affairs for Mobile Anesthesiologists, LLC. Ms. Mayer is a Registered Nurse with nearly thirty years of experience. As Director of Clinical Affairs, Ms Mayer oversees the management and development of the perianesthesia nursing staff. The nursing staff is responsible for obtaining pre-operative medical histories on all patients, ensuring constant communication with the anesthesiologists, as well as monitoring if the patient requires further diagnostic testing, lab work, and/or information from the patient’s primary care physician or specialist.

Prior to joining Mobile Anesthesiologists, Ms. Mayor was the Medical Management Nurse at a large medical management service organization for HMO’s and Insurance Providers. Prior to that, she held nurse management positions at several prominent hospitals.
